About Me
Holly McElroy is a writer, editor and content creator. She is a Commissioning Assistant at Oxford University Press where she works on a number of academic law textbooks.
​
She is also the editor and creator of the Environment Section of Wales Arts Review, an online magazine and hub for arts and culture in Wales.
​
Holly is a writer that works across many forms- scientific articles, personal essays, reviews, lifestyle pieces as well as short stories.
​
Her work has appeared in Wales Arts Review, Fertility Help Hub, Quench Magazine, Cardiff Student Media and Green-Books.org.

Editorial Work
During the recent pandemic, Holly became increasingly aware of the discrepancy between science and the media in reporting of COVID-19. This touched on a wider issue in the way we talk about and report scientific stories in society and was something she wished to explore further in her work.
​
From this idea birthed the Environment Section of Wales Arts Review with its ambition to give a focus to the challenges facing the planet brought about by the climate crisis and bridge the gap between the sciences and the arts under one collective aim. The section is producing well-communicated articles on a range of topics with a sound science basis.
​
Through her role as Editor, Holly been in charge of branding and marketing the new section, networking and commissioning writers as well as conducting interviews and writing press releases.
